The Thing at the AFFR
Next to the Bijenkorf on the Coolsingel is one of the most famous sculptures of Rotterdam - popularly called Het Ding - by the Russian artist Naum Gabo.
At the 11e edition AFFR - the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam - that takes place from 9-13 October 2019, the short film Het Ding van Mels van Zutphen will be screened in LantarenVenster. A film about the restoration, full of fragments from the fiery manifesto of Naum Gabo.
Mels van Zutphen made Het Ding for CBK Rotterdam / Sculpture International Rotterdam as part of a series of short films about works of art from the SIR collection.
