Youth Holiday Passport

up to and including 20 / 08 / 17

All young Rotterdam residents from 4 to 12 years with a Youth Holiday Passport can join the exhibition for free from 8 July to 20 August together with 1 or 2 adults BLUEPRINT in TENT. Children receive a DIY booklet with cool illustrations, games and information that helps to better understand the exhibition.

Takeover #1: Concrete Blossom

Concrete Blossom has been committed to a city where everyone comes into their own for some time now. Friday July 14, Studio Narrative kicks off the search for an inclusive Rotterdam with the Concrete Blossom Takeover in TENT. An evening where cultural innovators, veterans and other city makers talk to you and each other about inclusiveness and urban appropriation.

TENT & Alida Dors

TENT takes part in the Rotterdam Summer Carnival for the third time. This time choreographer Alida Dors will create a parade inspired by the role of dance in Afro-Caribbean funeral processions. Alida Dors' parade connects a hip-hop idiom with the role of dance in Afro-Caribbean funeral processions. For this project Dors works with dancers from four hip hop houses in the Netherlands.

Takeover #2: Family Values

On Friday 4 August, international dance icons will discuss the way in which dance styles and dancers are inspired by decolonization and queer politics. This second Takeover is put together by Aruna Vermeulen (HipHopHuis) and takes place in the context of BLUEPRINT: Whose urban appropriation is this?

Z-Files #19: Cape Color

This summer nine ornaments lists with restored and new artworks in the Katendrecht district of Rotterdam will be delivered. The project, titled Cape Color starts with a Summer School for children (7 - 11 years old) at Katendrecht. The frames and paintings will be unveiled during the 19th edition of Z-Files, Art and the City in Belvedere Story House on 25 August.

BLUEPRINT: Whose urban appropriation is this? is about the relationship between street culture and architecture in TENT Rotterdam. Metro54 invited architects, designers, rappers, producers and artists. They show new and existing work that shapes, examines and depicts the sometimes stormy relationship between architecture and street culture.

Disclaim the Street

In Rotterdam Cultural Histories #11: Disclaim the street Navin Thakoer paints a picture of the history of Rotterdam hip-hop culture. Thakoer makes the discussion about hip hop and its legacies visible by placing a call on social media and asking: Who are the legendary Rotterdam hip-hoppers and why?

Friday evening = the Art evening

every Friday evening, 18 - 21 hour

Every Friday night is Art evening in the Art Quarter of Rotterdam. Discover the versatility of contemporary art in the Rotterdam art quarter at TENT, Witte de With, WORM, V2 and MAMA and art in the public space of CBK Rotterdam. The institutions are open free of charge every Friday evening between 18 and 21 p.m. The (also) free tour starts at 19 pm at the TENT and Witte de With desks.

Exhibition in the GRENZHAUS

up to and including 28 / 08 / 17 at Museum Rotterdam

The GRENZHAUS is a modular meeting space of the German architect Benedict Esche. On World Refugee Day it was in the outdoor area all day; The GRENZHAUS can now be visited at the entrance of the Timmerhuis (Rodezand) and the installation offers space for an exhibition with work by Peter Koole, Harry Man, Stacii Samidin, Jonas Staal and Veldwerk.
