Mark Lotterman - Holland

TENT Welcomes singer-songwriter Mark Lotterman on Friday 13 October to Sunday 22 October. Musician Mark Lotterman asked more than 100 artists, scientists and students to be inspired by one of the songs from his new album The Netherlands. In the TENT gym you can see the work of more than 40 Rotterdam artists who contributed to this immense project.

I don't want a piss afterwards

I don't want a piss afterwards is a retrospective exhibition with work by Rotterdam painter Ad Schouten who died on 19 July 2017 at the age of 71. Schouten is known for various works in public space, such as the sculpture Future (2011) near the Slinge and the mural Irreversible (1994) in the Bloemfonteinstraat. The exhibition will be opened on October 13 and can be seen in Gallery Frank Taal until November 11.

TENT X TATE

For the second time, TENT Rotterdam and Tate Young People's Programs are working on a project for young creatives. Ten young people aged 2-18 from Rotterdam and London participate in an exchange in which the question “Where does culture happen?” is central. During workshops, discussions and field trips, the group investigates where culture is produced and how this relates to the exhibition spaces of TENT and Tate.

Masterclass Art Mediation: Yana Klichuk

Witte de With, MAMA and TENT present a series professional development master classes for teachers, art mediators and other educators from the art and culture sector. The first master class is given by Yana Klichuk, Head of Education and Learning at Manifesta. She will share her ideas about art education in complex cultural organizations and will elaborate on the role of the Art Mediator.

New jazz unveiling & album presentation

20/10/17

On Friday 20 October, the jazz portrait of Meijer Wery by illustrator Joost Swarte will be unveiled and the album Jazz from R'JAM will be presented. This will open the Cross Comix festival in Theater Rotterdam Schouwburg. The program starts at 16: 00 hours in the theater, and ends with the album presentation in Rotown.

Garage Café #5

Garage Café is a place for experimentation, presenting research projects, new collaborations, performances and all other forms of artistic work. Garage Café # 5 will open its doors again on October 26 for 6 presentations and performances of 10 minutes each. There is also food, drink and time to talk to each other. This event is organized in collaboration with WdKA, Garage Rotterdam and CBK Rotterdam.

Rory Pilgrim -Holographic Futures

Rory Pilgrim makes a new performance based on recent plans for an LGBTQ + monument and meeting place in the public space in Rotterdam. Pilgrim is working together with the Rotterdam LGBTQ + community to investigate how a place can be created that represents this diverse community.

Naum Gabo - ZT

Last summer, the restoration work on Naum Gabo's sculpture for the Bijenkorf began. A scaffolding was built around the sculpture in August, and restoration work started in early September. It took a long time for the restoration to get under way: the lengthy preparation of the permit application was partly due to the complexity of the restoration.

Going Back to Forget

The group exhibition opens on Thursday 9 November Going Back to Forget in TENT. The participating artists follow the traces of their family history, try to hold on to time, imagine memories that they have never been told, and thus tell stories that must be told today. With work by Kevin van Braak, Rabin Huissen, Sarojini Lewis, Sandim Mendes and Sara Rajaei.

Z-Files #20: Loeki Metz and the Jewish Monument in Rotterdam

The 20th edition of the series Z-Files, Art and the City is organized by CBK Rotterdam in collaboration with the Loods 24 Foundation and Jewish Children's Monument. Here is the first copy of the publication Loeki Metz and the Jewish Monument in Rotterdam from Siebe Thissen handed over by Mayor Aboutaleb to Serge Metz, the son of Loeki Metz.
