The exhibition will take place from Friday 16 June to Sunday 18 June Frame the Artist place in TENT. The exhibition is a presentation of the work of students from the Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam who visited studios and artists to make film and photography portraits of them.

Exhibition in the GRENZHAUS

The GRENZHAUS is a modular meeting space by the German architect Benedict Esche. On World Refugee Day, the GRENZHAUS is on the Schouwburgplein all day, and there is an exhibition with work by Peter Koole, Harry Man, Stacii Samidin, Jonas Staal and Veldwerk. This project was realized in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut, Museum Rotterdam, the Pauluskerk and Theater Rotterdam.

Lecture Auke de Vries: Space and Scale

22 / 06 / 17 at Het Nieuwe Instituut

On June 22, Auke de Vries will give a lecture at Het Nieuwe Instituut. On this evening you will have the opportunity to hear Auke de Vries speak about his working method. 'Space' is the leitmotiv in his oeuvre; how he handles the space, 'touches' and thereby defines it. In this lecture important images in public space, such as the Maas sculpture in Rotterdam and Landed in Berlin.

Lecture at De Bijenkorf

On the last two Fridays of June (Architecture Month), lectures will be held in the atrium of the Bijenkorf. On 23 June, Siebe Thissen (head of BKOR), Marjolijn van der Meijden (project leader BKOR) and Dees Linders (head of Sculpture International Rotterdam) talk about the preservation of reconstruction art and current art on Coolsingel.

Visit TENT, MAMA, V2, WORM and Witte de With or take the Kunstblocktour: An 1 hour tour in which you get to know these art institutions in high speed. Takeover #1: Concrete Blossom

On Friday, June 30, Studio Narrative will host a special event that celebrates the art of the takeover, claiming and redefining space. This event is curated by Malique Mohamud. Concrete Blossom is the umbrella name of a series of events that focus on cultural diversity within media, culture and society as a whole.

Sculpture garden on the roof of the Bijenkorf

In the context of the Rotterdam Architecture Month and at the initiative of the Rotterdam Roof Days, a sculpture garden has been installed on the roof of De Bijenkorf. A unique collection of early reconstruction works can be seen in the sculpture garden. The roof can be visited during the opening hours of De Bijenkorf Rotterdam.

BLUEPRINT: Whose urban appropriation is this? is a multidisciplinary group exhibition about the relationship between street culture and architecture in TENT Rotterdam. Metro54 invited architects, designers, rappers, producers and artists to show new and existing work about the sometimes stormy relationship between architecture and street culture.

Carina Hesper wins European Design Award

Carina Hesper received a loan through the CBK Fonds Kwadraat for her project Like a Pearl in my Hand. She recently won the European Design Awards for that project. In China, Hesper took penetrating photos of blind and partially sighted orphans. In Like a Pearl in my Hand she covered these portraits with a black heat-sensitive ink. The ink becomes transparent around 20 degrees so that the photos only become visible thanks to the warmth of our hands.

In the annual overview you can see and read which activities in 2016 were organized by the programs of CBK Rotterdam.
