On the occasion of the first IFFR weekend and the last weekend of the exhibition of Nicky Assmann TENT will be open longer for a long weekend. From Thursday to Sunday it is Radiant to visit 21 hours. Radiant concludes with the special event Liquid Sold; the premiere of Assmann's collaboration project with Joris Strijbos.

Since January 2016, visual artist Tonio de Roover has been the new committee member for the assessment of R&D contributions. The other members of the committee are Julia Geerlings, Frans van Lent, Anja Novak and Joep Overtoom. De Roover lives and works in Rotterdam. This year there are two more R&D application rounds.

This year, Rotterdam is celebrating 75 year of reconstruction with a cultural manifestation. Open Rotterdam went with Pendie to Siebe Thissen (head of BKOR) The Bodybuilders to watch. The two images of Koos van Vlijmen were placed in 1941 after the bombing at the emergency shops on the Coolsingel. In 1956 they moved to Pendrecht.

Henry Moore's Wall Relief no. 1

Moore's wall can be found in its original location, on the Weena. The work is now embedded in the facade of the 'First' building, which will be completed later this year. More information about this facade relief can be found on the Sculpture International Rotterdam website.
