Difference makes I & I equal
The more we differ, the more we are the same. The Rastafarian culture has no you and I, only I & I. This equality inspired Thijs Lansbergen to his theme 'Difference makes I & I equal'. From rats to lions and pigs to birds. No person can be found in his work. As a result, the visualized situations are not of one country or culture, but are identifiable for the whole world. The combination of Rastafarian culture, African art and the (very) Dutch Thijs creates a special series of screen printing and animation that blurs cultural boundaries.
