TENT x Project Wiaspora # 1

TENT x Project Wiaspora searches through online and offline channels for connection and space for meeting from a socially critical perspective. TENT program maker Gyonne Goedhoop, together with guest programmers Richard Kofi and Simone Zeefuik from Project Wiaspora, will be talking to various makers, thinkers and doers. During the lockdown in spring 2020, they spoke online with three guests about being a creator in times of Corona. What can we learn from this time? How can we prepare for a post-corona era? Does this crisis also offer opportunities for an inclusive and hopeful future?

Project Wiaspora is the podcast for revolutionary futurists and decolonized minds. The recordings take place at special locations, where Richard Kofi and Simone Zeefuik discuss the local social impact of art, culture and activism. To this end, they invite rebellious artists, musicians, writers and other creatives who are fighting free from the expectations of the mainstream.

  • TENT x Project Wiaspora: Out of the concrete we emerge
The corona crisis put a stop to our 'normal' way of doing things, so our lives may never be the same again. Fortunately, says optimistic activist Malique Mohamud (founder and artistic director of Concrete Blossom). Gyonne Goedhoop and Richard Kofi, together with Mohamud, speculate about the post-corona era. A conversation about the cultural dynamics of night shops and shishal lounges, social justice 2.0, new forms of intimacy and the design of public space.

  • TENT x Project Wiaspora: Coronaverse temporality
You hear many people say that the corona crisis is an unforgettable historical event. But how do you proceed in this day and age and what impact does this have on how we look at work? What opportunities does the fact that we all work remotely offer our community to better connect internationally? Does this 'meantime' also influence our handling of time, and the pace at which we think we have to map out our life as a maker? What space should we create for ourselves in this? Gyonne Goedhoop and Simone Zeefuik talk about this documentary maker Bibi Fadlala, also talking about the female directors who inspire her work.
