Summer School Cape Color

Verhalenhuis Belvédère has had an educational program developed on the basis of the new paintings in the public space of Katendrecht: the workshops XL Painting en Walk & Talk, in which stories about the images, Katendrecht and the artists are exchanged between young and old.

The results of XL Painting will be exhibited on Friday 11 August and during the unveiling of the ornamental frames on 25 August. Based on the conversations during the Walk & Talk, an audio tour is being developed - Kapie Kaapse Kleur - for all residents and visitors of Katendrecht. The audio tour can be rented at the Verhalenhuis Belvédère from the autumn holidays.

Summer School Belvédère takes place from Monday 7 August to Friday 11 August. There is still limited space for children from 9 to 12 years; they can register via karla@verhalenhuisbelvedere.nl. If you provide your name, age and telephone number, Karla will call you.

Walk & Talk
After a course in interview techniques, you walk in groups along the artworks in the public space. You share stories with each other through interviews. Everyone does this from their own experience.
The groups are composed of very different participants such as older Kapenezen, old and young 'newcomers' (new residents of Katendrecht) and interested people from the city. Everyone's knowledge, curiosity and interest is discussed. An audio tour of the sound recordings during Walk & Talk will be mixed later. Under the title Cape Therapy Color - it is offered after the summer holidays. Then, for example, you and your family can take this listening walk on which you can also listen to your story. Your contribution will give extra meaning to the works of art that can be found in the streets in the coming years.

This workshop is held in and around the Storyhouse Belvédère.

XL painting
In this workshop (make your breast wet) you will paint big (s) under the guidance of visual artist and Katchterrechter Katrijn Verstegen.During an interview, the children are first introduced to Katrijn as a person and as an artist. She uses a slideshow to tell where she gets her inspiration from, about her search during creation and about her latest work.
After the big interview, the children literally and figuratively get all the space in the Fenixloods to paint large (s). Katrijn reveals the theme for the workshop on the day itself. You work as a real artist on large, sturdy paper, with spray cans and templates, brushes and brushes. And you experience something of the experience of the artists of the ornament frames.

This workshop is held in the Fenixloods at LT dance studio.
