Sara Hamadeh - A Refusing Machine

Sara Hamadeh will give a lecture performance in TENT on Thursday 7 December at 20:00 PM. While hundreds of amateur videos of military planes and drones over Syria appear online every day, Sara Hamadeh paints a picture of recent military history in which politics, technology and popular culture appear to be intertwined. In this 'lecture performance' she combines storytelling with archive materials and media images to make a connection between air warfare, the cockpit and the human role.

Sara Hamadeh (Lebanon) is an artist and researcher with a background in film sciences. In her research she focuses on images of war and the power politics behind the production and distribution of those images on the internet.

A Refusing Machine is part of the lively public program that runs parallel to the group exhibition Going Back To Forget takes place. More information and tickets on the TENT website.
