SABRINA STARKE - WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

On Friday 28 September, TENT presents a double scoop: the opening of the exhibition Who do you think you are? initiated by Rotterdam singer-songwriter Sabrina Starke, and the very first showcase on the occasion of her brand new album Underneath the Surface. The exhibition consists of works by nine visual artists, seven of which create new work. There is a cross-disciplinary offer of public programs throughout the exhibition period. The many dimensions of identity form the central theme. The aim is to provide a positive stimulus to the search for new definitions of identity.

 In her sixth and new album Underneath the Surface Starke takes us on her personal journey to the layers of her own identity. “On my album I share my search and the desire arose to make it bigger than myself. I want to create a setting where I can continue this research with my audience, "she says. She would like to emphasize that this is about the search and not the answers. "Let us embrace everything we discover and encounter." Starke worked closely with consultant, artist and curator Charl Landvreugd to develop the exhibition.
