POW! WOW! Rotterdam 2019

The #1 street art festival of the world returns to Rotterdam!

After a successful first edition in the Vierhaven area, POW! WOW! back to Rotterdam on 15 September. From the industrial environment in 2018 to a multicultural neighborhood with an abundance of street art options: The Afrikaanderwijk!

Various walls and buildings form the backdrop for a true street art transformation. More than ten artists will work on new murals for a week. Just like last year, these will form a new street art route through Rotterdam. It will be unveiled during the festival on September 15. In addition, there is a stage with live music, the '20 VANS 30 CANS 'event where a series of vans are painted, guided walking tours and much more! All parts of the festival are free to visit and fun for the whole family!

GRAY WALLS GET A COLORFUL OUTDOOR GALLERY
The walls are the attraction of POW! WOW! Rotterdam. That is why the organization has once again tied a diverse selection of artists to turn the gray concrete of the Afrikaanderwijk into the most beautiful works of art. The artists who will be taking care of the walls this year are: Telmo Miel (NL), Smug (UK), Dourone (ES), Super A (NL), L7Matrix (BR), Saïd Kinos (NL), Danny Rumbl (NL), Helen Proctor (AU), Woes (US), Didier Jaba Mathieu (SG) and Nina Valkhoff (NL). In addition, London's Slinkachu will delight the Afrikaanderwijk with its miniatures and Spenser Little will come over from America to introduce Rotterdam to its unique installations of iron wire. Free guided walking tours will depart from the festival grounds so that you can visit the artists and their works with a guide.

TWENTY VEHICLES ARE PINED LIVE
Due to its success, 20 VANS 30 CANS also returns; on the edge of the festival site on the Afrikaanderplein, no less than twenty vehicles will be painted live on 15 September. The registrations for this will open on 6 August. Ideal to take a look if no one is playing on the main stage, the epicenter of POW! WOW! Rotterdam. Here too a mix of international artists, Dutch top artists and emerging regional talent can be seen and heard; Coely, Snel, Not3s, Pregnant Guy, Amartey, Kay-Slice, Sammie Sedano and HUNNA Soundsystem will perform.

A SURPRISING PROGRAMMING
In addition to art, there is much more to see, do and hear during the festival. This creates a mecca for urban culture and becomes POW! WOW! Rotterdam more than a street art festival. Music, art and sports all have their own place on the Afrikaanderplein. In the week prior to the festival, various activities for young and old will be organized in the Afrikaander district.
