Twist & Shout unveiling

Disclosure: 12 / 06 / 2013

Friday 12 July around 16: 00 hour, Antoinette Laan, alderman for sport, recreation, art and culture, will officially unveil and hand over Twist & Shout to the residents of the city with a ceremonial act.

The designer Martand Khosla is present. Then everyone is cordially invited to a demo and public skateboard lessons, which we offer in collaboration with a number of skateboarders and skateboard teachers. Twist & Shout is a very nice addition to the existing skate facilities in Rotterdam but also to the Rotterdam art collection in public spaces. Showroom MAMA is very proud that the realization - with united forces - has succeeded.

Twist & Shout by Martand Khosla from New Delhi is the winning design of the international ideas competition Reclaiming the Street that Showroom MAMA launched in 2010. Twist & Shout has been selected from more than 85 submitted designs by students, artists, skateboarders and designers from all over the world with an affinity with the skateboard culture.

Twist & Shout came about thanks to a contribution from the Center for Visual Arts.
