Maashaven Palace
Under the title Maashaven Palace In the coming years, Sculpture International Rotterdam is developing a long-term international art project in Rotterdam-Zuid, consisting of the arrival of new artworks, exhibitions, lectures and other activities. With Paleis Maashaven, Sculpture International Rotterdam wants to generate attention for the qualities and potential of this part of Rotterdam, in collaboration with the residents, initiatives and artists in the neighborhood. The project started in 2017 with a branch at the Cultuurwerkplaats Tarwewijk of Stichting Zuidzijde.

The first step Maashaven Palace is the movement of the artwork The Idler's Playground from the artist Cosima von Bonin from the center to the start of Putselaan - right in between Afrikaanderwijk, Bloemhof and Tarwewijk. Besides the sculpture by Cosima von Bonin, another three images come to this area: The Husband of the Doll from Thom Puckey, Monsieur Jacques from Oswald Wenckebach and The knot from Shinkichi Tajiri come from the Coolsingel and are placed in the garden of the Cultuurwerkplaats.
