Location: corner of Geldersekade and Wijnhaven at the foot of the White House and Scheepshelling de Koningspoort.

On Thursday, December 22, a year-end closing will take place in the Maritime District of Rotterdam: a concert of midwinter horn players and ship's horns. From the roof of the White House, midwinter horn players will play a piece of music by Alberto Granados Reguilón, student at Codarts Rotterdam, together with the horns of boats in the Oude Haven. This unique concert will be opened at 17.00 pm by Anke Bangma, artistic director of TENT. Afterwards you can enjoy a glass of hot mulled wine or a delicious cup of soup and there is the annual festival of lights around the Oude Haven. With Moon game, a ballet of floating orbs, artist Frans van der Horst will give a visual frame to this spectacle.

Mid-horn hornblowers
The Veluwe Mid-horn hornblowers normally only blow on and around the Veluwe, but come to Rotterdam especially for this occasion. The group of wind players usually practices in a country house on the estate of a former Rotterdam harbor baron.

Offblaak | Free port
The MidwinterSchipsHoornConcert takes place in the context of Offblaak | Free port, a project by visual artists Milou van Ham and Niek Verschoor, which they carry out on behalf of CBK Rotterdam, the municipality of Rotterdam and the Willem de Kooning Academy: together with professionals from the neighborhood and students from the academy, they develop new activities in the Maritime District: they use the arts to draw attention to the area and to explore new possibilities in the district.
After the concert, the Eldorado3000 artists' company opens the doors at Boompjes 55 for a Christmas exhibition in the Neck of the Woods.
