Art festivals in North and South

Two art festivals will start in Rotterdam on 10 June: Charlois Speciaal and Route du Nord.

Charlois Special is a new ten-day art event in Rotterdam South. With inspiring collaborative projects between local artists and residents of Charlois, art of an international level and routes along the workplaces of Charloisse artists. There are lectures, performances and pop-up exhibitions at special locations. There is music, and of course food and drink. Charlois Speciaal is made possible in part by CBK Rotterdam.

Route du Nord is a nomadic accessible art exhibition in the Zomerhofkwartier. With art by well-known artists and up-and-coming Rotterdam talent. Especially for Route du Nord 2016, CBK Rotterdam invited the artists Onno Poiesz Visual Artist, Judy van Luyk, Wietse Eeken, Stacii Samidin, Marijn de Jong, Lisette Schumacher, Daniel Van Nes, Donald Schenkel, Sophie de Vos, Boutaina Hammana, Sander van Wettum and Sil Flann Krol to participate in an exhibition in the Noordsingel Prison. It was compiled by Anton Hoeksema (Art Office, CBK Rotterdam) and opens on June 10 at 20:00.
