Dive into the amazing world of writer and artist Douglas Coupland. During this exclusive print and design workshop you create your own slogan posters on a high-speed large format Ricoh printer under the supervision of Coupland. While enjoying professionally prepared cocktails you explore the possibilities of one of the most popular fonts of the last century: the Helvetica font. In short assignments, inspired by Couplands 100 Slogans for the 21st Century,  in which he brings together shouts like 'I miss my pre-internet brain' and 'the future loves you but doesn't need you', you design your own posters with this font only. The results of the workshop will be exhibited during the Art Festival in Witte de Withkwartier.

Cocktails & Helvetica takes place in the context of Futurosity, a year-long event in which Kunstblock, together with Douglas Coupland, explores the idea of the future in various projects, exhibitions, workshops and events. From September 11, 2015 to January 3, 2016, Douglas Coupland's solo exhibition 'Bit Rot' can be seen at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art.

Participation
Participation and cocktails are free. Places are limited. Do you want to participate? Then explain in one sentence where your passion for the Helvetica font comes from and send it together with a link to your portfolio before September 8 to reservations@wdw.nl.
