This tour is part of the project started in October 2020 Waterworks which will continue until December 2021. Waterworks is about our relationship with the water. Six different artists, one after the other, in a relay race, research this relationship at Buitenplaats Brienenoord and realize a new work at this location. Six different approaches, six different studies, but converging in an expanding intervention. The waterworks.
The first artist to work on the island is Maurice Meewisse. He is also the curator of the project. In his preliminary research he looked at the connections with the Nieuwe Maas and the Buitenplaats. He presents his findings and interventions on the basis of an audio tour, in which visitors take a walk over a part of the Eiland van Brienenoord, starting with the pollard willow that has suddenly become part of a new environment. His personal memory from the past and the transition of the island are reflected in this audio tour. During the walk you will receive a special to-go snack from cook Jasper Boomsma, who is inspired by the theme of Waterworks. The tour lasts 25 minutes and starts at Buitenplaats Brienenoord. You listen to this tour with your own telephone and earphones.
We ask you to register for the audio tour via this address and indicate approximately what time you want it to run in view of the corona measures.
