CBK Rotterdam x Rotterdam Art Week 2025

Rotterdam Art Week will take place from 26 to 30 March. This year, CBK Rotterdam is again fully involved in various initiatives in the context of Art Rotterdam and the Rotterdam Art Week. This year is very special because Art Rotterdam is moving from the familiar Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam-West to Ahoy Rotterdam in Zuid! This means that at the end of March there will be a wonderful range of Rotterdam art on display on our south bank! A selection from the overwhelming range:

Bad Foundation organizes the group exhibition ϟ ENERGY ϟThe exhibition shows works by both members of the foundation and guest artists. Including Anique WeveAletta de Jong en Karin Arink. Rib aan de Wolphaertsbocht organizes a festival under the title The South Manifesto: I love Carlos with besides Rib also for example Stichting WET and various public places like bars and shops in Zuid. Besides this festival also the familiar and always exciting South Explorer during Rotterdam Art Week will rise again. In addition to these larger manifestations, various Rotterdam artists will be active in other places, such as Pip Passchier at FLAT and Pedro Gil Farias at UID (Unity in Diversity).


The South Manifesto: I Love Carlos

The Sculpture Park will again be on display at the fair itself this year, where Sculpture International Rotterdam involved. The presentation is set up as a meeting point at the fair where seventeen large-scale works of art can be seen. Part of the space is reserved for Rotterdam artists or artists trained in Rotterdam, including V&B (Alex Jacobs & Ellemic Shoemaker), Atelier Van Lieshout, Anne Wenzel en Boris van BerkumOf course, there is also a lot going on on the right bank of the Meuse, for example on March 27 IN YOUR FACE 2.0 an initiative of Astrid Moors en Maritsa van Luttikhuizen in the Doelen Art, Studio 2, a collaborative project between the Doelen and CBK Rotterdam. This group exhibition focuses on female visual artists from Rotterdam and draws attention to their position and visibility in the arts field.

On March 29, BKOR organizes a special art walk led by art guide Anne-Marie Ros. Join us on a specially composed 5,5 km route along contemporary art, public art and street art in Zuid – an area full of creativity waiting to be discovered. In short, block your agenda for the last days of March and dive into the overwhelming world of Rotterdam art!
