The urban designers 2020 have been commissioned to sketch the city during this time of the Corona crisis, and especially the people and situations. On this page we will regularly publish sketches of the town planners in the near future, and we will also introduce them to you.
Pris Roos is direct and involved. The corona virus shows how vulnerable we are. How do we deal with this? Do people observe or ignore the measures? She makes colorful drawings of the Rotterdammers during a world disaster. People who are busy with everyday chores, on the road or lost in thought safely at home, behind the window.

May 8, Sumatraweg, Bakkerswerkplaats I get bread from the bakery. Sometimes with me, around the corner on Hillesluis and otherwise I make it in Katendrecht. At the Bakkerswerkplaats. They open every morning at 8am. But they start baking bread in the middle of the night. Sometimes it is busy, sometimes it is quiet. Only 1 customer may enter. And the rest are waiting in a line. He. The baker boy told me something. His colleagues behind him smiled at him. I have my bread inside. # supportyourlocals # they really need it
May 7, Schouwburgplein, Thuisbezorgd You will find them everywhere in orange. They are on the street. Cycling right past you. Sit on the benches here and there in the city. The orange bicycles in the vicinity. They have their smartphones in their hands and are waiting for a call. The need for home delivery is now greater than ever. Do not forget. The messenger.
Frank Stoks now experiences life in the city as very surreal. The silence that now reigns, as if a large pile of snow has fallen that muffles the sounds of the city. Looking at the horrors in the news and through the window at children playing

This drawing was made on the Oudedijk near a student house. These ladies (10 who live there) are smart and have marked 1,5 meters with sidewalk chalk. They sit snugly together in their improvised living room at the door. That's why they wrote on the wall with sidewalk chalk: Housemates. That that is only clear. This drawing was drawn on April 23 in the afternoon. The ladies were enthusiastic and enjoyed being signed. The coloring is looser. This style originated in 2017 by drawing line drawings on prepared watercolor paper with color spots. In 2018 I print line drawings drawn on my I pad on watercolor paper that was prepared with color. And now completely digital.
Erico Smit wants to be guided by the process in which we lose various emotions (positive and negative) and different phases (panic, emptiness, losing control, a lot of time with family
(positive), partly lose your freedom (less positive). He wants to highlight the different layers within the Rotterdam population, with as
common thread character and freedom, and what that means in the different phases.
