Animal island in Oud-Charlois

In Rotterdam Charlois on the Kromme Zandweg, an island lies in a water feature. Twelve red wooden 'wild' animals have now settled on the island. These animals have found safe refuge for a year. In the romantic part of the Zuiderpark, where not only the De Olyfant country house and the mill can be found, the island borders Nature Park Children's Farm De Molenwei. Commissioned by BKOR, the artist duo La Cruz & Helweg in Rotterdam twice made an animal island, which formed the basis for educational projects with children from the surrounding schools and neighborhoods. Among other things to it Amelandseplein. The activities for the third version in collaboration with the nature playground and the Molenwei children's farm have been suspended. Keep an eye on this website for news about the Animal Island.
