The Wind Rose by Susan Philipsz

The Scottish artist Susan Philipsz (1965, Glasgow) has been using sound and music for more than twenty years in her work for public spaces and in art centers. Her artwork Seven Tears can be heard through seven speakers scattered on Willemsplein in Rotterdam.

We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with this piece, and we are working hard on it! In the meantime you can do it Kröller-Müller Museum visit. From 19 September to 27 October, the museum presents the sound installation The Wind Rose from Susan Philipsz.

In September it is extensively commemorated that Operation Market Garden took place years ago. As a result, the so-called air raid shelter of the museum is opened for the first time in history. The art collection of Helene Kröller-Müller was stored here during the Second World War. On his way to the basement the visitor is accompanied by the sound artwork 'The Wind Rose' by Susan Philipsz.
