TENT Rotterdam is looking for a:
TENT is the platform for contemporary art and culture in Rotterdam. With exhibitions, live events, innovative education programs and guest programming, TENT connects what is going on in the city with wider cultural and social developments. The creative and cultural diversity of Rotterdam is our source of inspiration and the basis from which we develop ambitious projects and new program lines. We explore contemporary topics with young and established makers, guest curators and collaboration partners. Artistic experiment and the production of new work are central.
Our current program includes the first solo exhibitions by artists from Rotterdam; theme exhibitions that also function as a lively setting for cross-disciplinary performances and meetings; a multi-part series of stories from the city; and collaborative projects with, for example, Opera Days, V2_, the Summer Carnival, the HipHopHuis and Tate Young Peoples Programs.
TENT is part of CBK Rotterdam that stimulates the visual arts climate in the city with investment schemes, presentations, art in public spaces and international assignments.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a curator who, together with artists, guest curators, the artistic director and the team of TENT, realizes programs and also initiates own projects. You know how to inspire makers and a diverse audience with your own vision and signature, and you in turn get inspired and nourished by the artistic approaches and topics that you identify around you. You look for the experiment in the form and content of your projects, thereby contributing to longer program lines and the current role of TENT in the changing cultural landscape. You are independent, but you know that meaningful exhibitions and projects are made together, and you therefore easily and happily work together with colleagues, artists and partner institutions.
