The announcer on the Coolsingel is back!
"It's Never Too Late to Say Sorry." This clock performance will finally take place again on Wednesday at the 12 hour. The well-known performer Wim Konings of the artwork It's Never Too Late to Say Sorry (2011) is back from a long illness. During the first year he appeared clockwise 12 every day at the display at the Town Hall on the Coolsingel, opened the door, took out the megaphone and blared over the Coolsingel: "It's never too late to say sorry!". For the past six years, the performance only takes place every Wednesday, clockwise at 12 hour, between the ringing of the clock and the carillon play of the City Hall.
In 2011 the Scandinavian duo Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset made this sculpture with performance It's Never Too Late to Say Sorry especially for this place commissioned by Sculpture International Rotterdam. In a showcase, often seen as a display of shops, there is a megaphone ,, which is illuminated at night like a jewel. The message that Elmgreen & Dragset spread is a personal, political and everyday appeal to the passing public. You can say a powerless gesture, after a series of works with the title of this artist duo.
Location: in front of the post office next to the City Hall.
