Mariette Dölle becomes director of Kranenburgh museum in Bergen
Mariette Dölle leaves as artistic director of art institution TENT Rotterdam. As of 1 June 2016, she becomes director of Kranenburgh in Bergen, a museum of contemporary art with a permanent collection of works belonging to the Bergen School.
Since mid-2006, Mariette Dölle has been the artistic director of TENT, the exhibition space for contemporary Rotterdam art in Witte de Withstraat. Under her leadership, TENT developed into a springboard for young artists and curators, acts as an ambassador for Rotterdam art and connects art and artists with social and artistic developments in a lively public program and in exhibitions. She put together successful exhibitions with work by Lara Almarcegui, Libia Castro & Olafur Olafsson, Wendelien van Oldenborgh and Anne Wenzel, among others. With her keen eye for current developments on the artistic agenda, she managed to give TENT an (inter) national image.
Mariette Dölle: “With great pleasure I worked for TENT and the art of Rotterdam. I was allowed to lead one of the most challenging art places in the Netherlands. With an enthusiastic team I have developed a leading exhibition program that even stands out internationally. This year TENT cooperates with Palais de Tokyo, TATE Modern and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. But above all, TENT has an open attitude towards our visitors, the city and the art world."
The group exhibition opens in TENT on Friday 22 April Utopian Dreams, curated by guest curator Reyn van der Lugt in collaboration with Mariette Dölle. TENT Rotterdam is the exhibition platform of CBK Rotterdam.
