Artist-in-residence in Dresden

In 2016 too, CBK Rotterdam and the Goethe-Institut offer a visual artist from Rotterdam the opportunity to participate in an artist-in-residence program and to stay in Dresden for two months. This program is a joint initiative of the Goethe Institutes in Rotterdam and Dresden, the art and culture department of the municipality of Dresden, CBK Rotterdam and the Kunsthaus Raskolnikow in Dresden. The purpose of this fair is to offer the artist-in-residence the opportunity to get to know the local art world, to make and deepen contacts and to exchange ideas and advice.

The stock market must enter May and June 2016 be exploited. During this period, an apartment with studio in the C. Rockefeller Center for Contemporary Arts in Dresden will be made available for the artist-in-residence.

This scholarship is available for artists (m / f) who have completed an education in visual arts or comparable studies. Applicants must be registered with CBK Rotterdam. The submitted application is assessed for quality. A committee will decide to whom the grant is awarded.

Applicants must submit the following documents digitally in English or German:

  • Motivation letter (approx. 1-2 pages)
  • Current CV
  • Documentation material from professional practice

The scholarship includes the free use of an apartment with studio and a living allowance and work material amounting to € 1.500 per month. In addition, the outward and return journeys are reimbursed once.
