Extra Large #06 Daan Botlek

Where once stood the old Hofplein Station, in and on the Arches, there is now a wall with scars from the disappeared station building with the nickname 'the End Wall'. Opperclaes uses the wall for the Opperclaes project. Extra Large. Opperclaes is a gallery on the Claes de Vries avenue for graffiti and street art based high art from a new generation of artists. With XL-Eindwand, Opperclaes acts as the curator of street art in public space. Following 'Erosie' by Jeroen Heeman, illustrator Daan Botlek transforms the wall into a work that trains run past and the figures seem to run with. The BKOR CBK program contributed financially to the realization of this work.
