Investment contribution: Silhouettes of a portico

This contribution concerns an assignment to create a work of art for the windows of six porches of a flat on the Ooltgensplaatweg in Rotterdam, Pendrecht. The purpose of the work is to conduct a home visit at all 48 addresses and to talk about the things that people have and to take pictures of the objects with which the residents surround themselves.
These images are their story, perhaps their most important memories, things on the wall, images or objects that people consider valuable, beautiful or have collected. They can also be patterns that play a role in the interior, on the carpet, the curtains, plants, photos or children's drawings.

All these images and stories are used as a starting point to eventually make a large collage per porch on the windows.
In this collage, per porch, every resident will recognize something. The collage forms a screen that they can appropriate, represents them; a screen between their home world and the world outside. Kamiel Verschuren carries out this assignment in collaboration with Pauline Schreurs.
